Find a Hat for International Volunteers Day

Did you know that Mandurah Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is 100% volunteer run? Volunteers work in a wide range of roles covering wildlife care, gardening, maintenance, cleaning, education, management, fundraising, administration and governance.

This year Mandurah Wildlife was a very grateful recipient, of an International Volunteers Day grant, from Volunteering WA and Lottery West. This grant gave us the opportunity to celebrate our volunteers and come together as a community.

Volunteers were invited to meet at the Dawesville Leprechaun Park where they each received a gift bag including sun safety information from Cancer Council WA, Mandurah Wildlife drink bottle, Containers for Change collection bag, Murphy’s Irish Pub gift voucher raffle ticket and a coffee voucher, redeemable at The Leprechaun Café, across the road. To receive a gift bag, you first had to find yourself a Mandurah Wildlife hat, hidden in the park.

After hats were found and gifts received, everyone headed to The Leprechaun Café to collect a cuppa before joining their fellow volunteers for a relaxing couple of hours in the autumn sun.

We would like to thank City of Mandurah, Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Cancer Council WA, Fully Promoted Mandurah, The Leprechaun Café, Murphy’s Irish Pub, Containers for Change WA, Volunteering WA and Lotterywest for the assisting us to acknowledge our wonderful volunteers. Without your assistance this event would not have been possible. Thank you.
