Animal Patient Diaries

Being located in a natural bush setting and needing to provide Browse to the animals in our care, our site needs constant maintenance to deal with the build up of branches, leaf matter and dead browse.

The Mandurah Wildlife Centre receives large numbers of ducklings each year, that have lost their parents. For this reason we installed anew Duckling Wing, funded by Lisa Munday MLA.

During the quieter winter months, when wildlife admissions are lower, we focus on maintaining and improving our facilities, work that is difficult to undertake during the busy spring and summer seasons. However, with animal care and administration already filling most of our volunteers' available hours, finding the time and physical assistance to complete these essential projects is always a challenge. Murphy’s Irish Pub raised funds for Mandurah Wildlife during the month of January. Every Friday during January, they held a meat raffle with proceeds accumulating until at the end of the month they presented Board members with an impressive donation of $2,212.
