During the quieter winter months, when wildlife admissions are lower, we focus on maintaining and improving our facilities, work that is difficult to undertake during the busy spring and summer seasons. However, with animal care and administration already filling most of our volunteers' available hours, finding the time and physical assistance to complete these essential projects is always a challenge.
We were therefore delighted to welcome a team of Alcoa Volunteers, who generously dedicated a morning to helping us tackle our winter maintenance list.
Essential Winter Maintenance

In just a few hours, the Alcoa team achieved an incredible amount. They paved a new platform for our Containers for Change collection bin, removed obsolete materials from around the property, cleared leaf litter from the tops of our aviaries, gathered branches and debris for disposal, prepared the site for a new aviary, relocated heavy equipment, and snake-proofed one of our enclosures.
Their efforts perfectly demonstrated that many hands truly do make light work, with most of the planned tasks completed before morning tea.
Thank You, Alcoa Volunteers

We are sincerely grateful to the Alcoa Volunteers for choosing to suppor
t Mandurah Wildlife. Your enthusiasm, hard work and generosity have helped us prepare our Centre for the busy months ahead, allowing our volunteers to focus on what matters most, providing the highest standard of care for our native wildlife.
Thank you for making such a meaningful difference.
